Welcome to reviews for 666Carbon.com

I decided to publish my experience dealing with them so you don't fall victem to the same scammers I did.

tl;dr

Long story short, I ordered a tank cover from them, received one which didn't fit. After much back and forth they agreed to send a replacement. I had to ship it myself and pay duty tax because they refused to send me any documents.

The supposed replacement I got was the same piece (ie. the one I had returned), just with the insideds sanded down poorly and a new crack.

Basically, don't order there. I spent 180 € and they're all down the drain. Fuck those guys. Anyway, have fun at your next track day! .

Fuck those guys. They're beyond useless

Order Received

I receive the order. Shipment was with DHL and was without much problems. I did notice a lack of documentation though.

Mounting the tank cover

I brought the bike to a mechanic to mount the tank cover (as per their onstructions on their website), but he was unable to mount it because the pre-drilled holes were completly misaligned.

misaligned screw hole

No amount of pulling, heating or any other force would pull the cover over the edge of the tank. You can see in the image below that there is a clear space left below the cover. This is what the tank guard was supposed to wrap around.

tank cover does not fit

It's not as clearly visible here, but you can still make out the gap between the tank and the guard at the top of the tank. This space was exactly what the guard was supposed to wrap around.

Asking for help

I sent them an email showing the problem and asking what could be done to fix this.

666Carbon.com's Response

In summary their response was that the error is on my end, that there must be some obstruction (like tank grips).

29.05.24

My response

I explained that I had removed the tank grips and any other stickers prior to attempting the installation.

666Carbon.com's Response

They replied by assuming that I had tried to mount the bike myself, saying they don't know why it doesn't work on my bike because it works on their bike and sending photos of their stock bike.

29.05.2024

My Response

I tell them that it's great that it fits on their bike, but that doesn't help me. I explain that it doesn't fit for a third time. and ask for a replacement.

That's where things start to get intresting in a really annoying way.

Replacements at the customer's expense

Basically, they say they cannot accept returns from Switzerland. I have to transport it across the border, pay custom duties (because from the border official's view I'm importing something because I have no documentation to proove otherwise ), and ship it back at my own cost.

Stupidly, after some back and forth, I agree to ship it at my own expense in the hopes of getting a working replacement.

Received the replacement

I eventually got the replacement, but it was literarily the same item. Not only that, but it was now worse than before.

In an attempt to make it fit the tank they sanded down the inside of the tank cover. I guess it makes sense if you're operating on half a braincell shared between three people, but not when you're producing saftey gear meant for the race track.

sanded down parts after return

Not only that, but their refurbished replacement came with a new crak. It doesn't look bad from this angle, but...

crack after return

... from this angle it definetly looks like something to get caught on when youre sliding across the seat.

Paypal Claim

I wasn't going to jump through the hoops again with them and decided to open a claim with paypal.

This was my first time doing something like this, so i didn't know how to navigate the process. At the end the claim was denied because I didn't activate the buyer's protection. This only get's activated when you escalate the case to paypal.

I stated my reasons for wanting a refund, they made up excuses and aimed at running out the clock (since the disputes are automatically closed after a certain period).

Once a claim is closed, you cannot activate the buyer's protection anymore. I called paypal to ask about this and was told that

"[...] this is a common tactic of shady sellers and scammers. They reply slowly and hope that the customer doesn't activate the buyer's protection because it usually doesn't get resolved in their favor."

A the end of the day I have learnt to never purchase from 666 Carbon again and to escalate cases with paypal quicker.

Hopefully this will help you avoid the same scammers in the future.
